Standing 4,987 feet tall, the trekking trail of this trek in the Chikmagalur district takes trekkers through meadows, hills, and dense forests to the summit, which rewards you with panoramic views. The Netravati peak trek is not like other commercial treks; it offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere, making it ideal for those seeking to escape the chaos and build a connection with nature.

The trek starts from Samse village, covering a total distance of 12 to 14 km (both ways). The trekking trail of this moderately challenging trek involves narrow paths, steep ascents, and walking on rocky paths. Despite all the challenges, the trek is manageable and is rewarded with breathtaking views along the way. This will be an exciting journey with streams, flora and fauna, and open grasslands adding a magical charm to the trek.

The prime highlight of the Netravati Peak Trek is the summit views—clear sights of lush green valleys and surrounding mountain ranges. Clear days also reward you with views of the Arabian Sea.

This trek is most suitable for those with experience and beginners with good physical fitness, ready to take on challenges and go beyond their limits. If you wish to see gushing waterfalls, vibrant and lush green landscapes, and active wildlife, then the monsoon and post-monsoon months are best suited. However, trekking in the monsoon comes with a lot of challenges. So it is important to be careful and take the necessary safety measures and precautions for a comfortable and enjoyable trek.

Many trekkers also choose to stay in camps overnight to make the trek experience even more enjoyable. You can place the campsite along the trail or near the base camp, offering a chance to experience staying under the starlit sky amidst the natural surroundings. The soothing atmosphere and a cosy bonfire create a perfect vibe that takes away all your stress and feel like you are far away from the hustle and bustle of your busy city life.
